Powered by Forest Group’s specialist designed EPS Bead

Collectively used to trap sediment meaning when contaminated water flows between the beads, it becomes an effective filter cleaning the water.

Attracting and capturing water soluble chemicals such as Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons, Heavy metals, Deicing agents, Nitrates and Phosphates.

Unpowered & chemical-free onsite de-watering solution

The Filter Feeder has been designed to receive wastewater slurries commonly discharged by road sweeping and gully sucking operations as well as pumped waste from de-watering exercises.

The process systematically ‘cleans’ water by using both the pre-filter units and a specialist EPS filter medium found in the head to separate and cleanse the water content from any slurry and suspended matter.

Works with your waste management and environmental plan

Following this process any filtered water can then be discharged in a safe and controlled manner in line with your site discharge permit, with any dry waste remaining in the removable pre-filter units effectively classed as de-watered which can be responsibly disposed of as a solid waste.

Over 1 year of live site trials with a large UK construction contractor Galliford Try have concluded:

Benefits:

  • Off-site tipping time 4 hours saved from an 8 hour shift
  • Saving the need of a further sweeper on site
  • Fuel costs calculated at approx. £15k per year
  • Saving over 38 tonne of carbon emissions per year
  • Tipping costs/contaminated waste charges
  • Filtered water can be re-used on site – dust suppression

*The above amounting to a potential saving in excess of £15,000 pcm*

Outlay Costs:

  • Design and build approach ramp – build costs approx. £15k
  • Maintenance on emptying filter baskets – approx. cost £6k per year

(based upon estimated average 2-3 tips per day, empty baskets once per week)

*Alternative powered system requiring power and water supply - approx. £120k per year for this project*
