Manufactured using 100% recycled materials, our Polybed product range has been specifically designed to replace traditional drainage methods with an environmentally-friendly, cost-effective alternative, imitating the natural drainage process by slowing the dispersal of rainfall and controlling its release into the natural environment.
The Polybed system comprises a 100mm layer of lightweight recycled non-biodegradable aggregate surrounding a 100mm or 150mm diameter corrugated perforated single or twin wall plastic pipe. It is provided, encased in polyethylene netting, in 3-metre sections. Lightweight and flexible, these sections are easily joined together with a rapid click fit connection. They can be assembled at ground level and simply rolled into the trench by one or two people, minimising health and safety risks for groundworkers and reducing the need for expensive stone and gravel.
The system delivers a consistent void ratio in excess of 40%.
A complementary product Polyagg, with a ratio of 30% under compression, has been developed to provide additional lightweight fill to further increase the void and achieve extra water retention.
