The Forest Group History
The Forest Group was set up in 2000 to provide solutions to health and safety issues facing the housebuilding industry and in 2002 the company was awarded first prize in the prestigious HSBC Start-up Stars competition for innovative new businesses.
Today one of its subsidiaries, Forest Safety Products Ltd is the UK’s leading manufacturer of passive fall arrest systems, assisting a broad base of customers to comply with Health and Safety Legislation on working at height. Originally designed to protect carpenters and bricklayers working inside a building during construction, the Soft Landing System is now used extensively not only in the housebuilding industry, but also in the transport and aerospace sectors.
A separate company, Forest Drainage Products Ltd. was established in 2004 to provide companies within the building industry with stormwater management systems specifically developed to help fulfil their obligations in terms of sustainable urban drainage (SUDS). The resulting Polybed range of products provides a cost-effective, sustainable, high-performance alternative to traditional drainage methods and is used in a wide range of applications including retaining walls and foundations, domestic and stormwater soakaways, septic tanks, and golf course and sports pitch drainage.
Based in Newent, Gloucestershire, the Forest Group is committed to continuing to develop its product ranges to adapt to future changes in legislation and building regulations.
